It is the season of days and nights of neglect

At least from the dogs' point of view.  It's tax season and I am working quite a bit more than is usual.  I noticed that there were very few newer pictures so I took a few minutes this morning in the back yard with the dogs and a camera and took a few pics.  You can see them on  the puppy photo page.

Week Twelve

Twelve weeks old now!  Mole, Moonie and Ellie got their second shots and are now allowed out of the back yard in carefully chosen places.

Ellie spent the weekend with her new family and came back wanting to go back for more time.  As her people and canine sister were leaving, she started to walk out the door with them.  Guess she had a good time.

Abby (Blaze) is living the dolce vitae with her new family.  She shares the entries in her diary several times a week and sends pictures, too.

SinJin (Button), Jackson (Dynamo) and Prima are so busy training their families to be good whippet companions that we haven't heard from them this week.

Mole and Moonie worked on getting used to their nifty new leads and otherwise just romped the week away.  We are still looking for Mole's perfect new home.   Moonie is turning into quite the little teaser.  Mole is quite a bit bigger than she is but she's the one that starts the wrestling games.

Week Eleven-Sad days

Yesterday we sent off the fourth puppy to leave.  All four have wonderful homes yet it does feel as though our household is dwindling away.  Mole's planned placement did not work out in the end so he is still looking for just the right home.

The penny seemed to drop for Big Mo yesterday and she looked under blankets and in corners and finally just stood and cried.  I did manage to comfort her but she was so sad.  She slept next to the expen last night rather than with me as usual.  And this morning for the first time she asked me to let the pups out to go play.

They all look like whippets in miniature now with plenty of curves.   They are adorable playful dears and I wish each one that has started its new life a perfectly wonderful life.  They each have the right family to see that they have that chance.
